An Open Letter To Hillary From One Of The Deplorables

An Open Letter To Hillary From One Of The Deplorables
Dear Hillary:
I am one of those people you called deplorable, bigots, homophobic, women hating, gun nuts just because we oppose you and support Trump.
First off I am none of those things. I spent my life working in the Inner-City and volunteering in Appalachia. As a U. S. history teacher I incorporated both African American history and women’s history into the curriculum. Ernest Green, John Lewis and Diane Nash are among my heroes. As a Catholic living alone in Eastern Kentucky in 1973 I know what it is like to experience prejudice. I am hardly a bigot and the last time I ever fired a gun I was in ROTC in 1969.
I grew up a democrat. I actually carried a sign for Adlai Stevenson at the end of my driveway on Election Day, 1956, heard JFK speak in 1960 and cast my first presidential vote for George McGovern. I’ve voted for Carter, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Mondale, Dukakis and your husband.
It was not until your husband vetoed the partial birth abortion ban did I stop voting for democrats. Up until then I believed that it really didn’t matter since both parties basically paid lip service to their positions on abortion and did nothing. After all it was a republican who appointed Sandra Day O’Connor and David Souter to the Supreme Court.
I didn’t actually vote for a republican candidate until the 2008 primary season when you and the president argued about who was the most pro-abortion as if it was a good thing.
I support Trump as the lesser of 2 evils, not because he is such a great candidate. In fact I voted for Kasich in the primary. I wish I could vote for you but not with your abortion policies.
There are a great many problems facing this country. More than a good president we need the help of God. I believe that as long as we continue to slaughter babies, to push abortion overseas and force innocent people to support abortion through federal funding God will not bless this country.
If that makes me a bigot, a deplorable whatever you want to call me so be it. At least when I face God He won’t call me a killer of the innocent.

Are You Ready To Pay For Abortions?

The question that all taxpaying voters must answer this election year is whether they are willing to pay for abortions. The Democratic Platform calls for free abortions and the repeal of the Hyde Amendment that bans taxpayer funding of abortions. It is not enough that they demand the right to have an abortion the Democrats now insist that the taxpayers provide free abortions to everyone who wants one. We are not talking about cases where the life of the mother is in danger, there was rape or incest involved. No, they want you to pay for all abortions.
They don’t care about your religious beliefs or religious freedom. Hillary stated in April, 2015 to a women’s group that “deep seated religious beliefs” related to abortion have to be changed. Does that sound like a commitment to follow the First Amendment and protect religious freedom?
Ironically, Mario Cuomo and Tim Kaine among other Catholic Democratic politicians have long claimed to be personally opposed to abortion but refused to impose their religious beliefs on others. Hillary doesn’t have that problem. She is imposing her religious or atheistic values on the American people. She apparently doesn’t care about your soul. Perhaps she doesn’t believe in Hell or God.
She might not but we do. How can we face God if we vote for a candidate whose policies are so heinous? How could we justify electing someone who will force you to participate in the slaughter of countless innocent children, real babies not blobs of tissues?
It is obvious that Hillary believes that we don’t care about our faith. She thinks Christians are so pathetic that she can say and do anything and most Christians will still vote for her. Let’s prove her wrong and show that we have the guts to stand up for Christ.
Remember! A vote for Hillary is a vote to pay for Abortions. Is that what you really want?

No Retreat, No Surrender!

No Surrender, No Retreat
No surrender, no retreat; that’s how I was raised. I grew up as part of the John Wayne generation, our values shaped by the World War II movies and westerns we watched on our black and white TV’s. Men were supposed to be independent, tough and in control. Our heroes were Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone and “I have not yet begun to fight” John Paul Jones. Surrender was not part of our vocabulary. It was extremely difficult for us to give up control, even to God.
It was not until I was drafted into the healing ministry that I ever began to understand what it meant to surrender to Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I really knew nothing about healing prayer so I read everything I could find on healing prayer. Healing I learned was an act of love by Jesus and Jesus’ love encompassed every aspect of our lives. His love is total, completely beyond our imagination or comprehension. When He sees us we look like Him in the scene from The Passion where Pilate presents Jesus to the crowd after the Scourging, all covered in blood and wounds. Jesus sees every emotional, spiritual, relational wound we’ve ever suffered. He knows our every hurt and longs passionately to heal all of our wounds not just the physical. He wants to pour out His love upon us and heal all of us. He passionately longs to unleash a Niagara Falls worth of blessings upon us.
To surrender to Jesus means to open ourselves up to the unbelievable love He has for us, to be open to a love so far beyond human imagination it isn’t funny, a love that encompasses every aspect of our lives, that knows and ardently desires what is best for us. Surrendering to Jesus means we allow Jesus to pour His love upon us and do what is best for us. He knows what we need. He knows what we can handle and He knows what truly will make us happy.
What can be greater than that? Sadly, too often we hold onto control. We are afraid. We don’t trust Jesus or we think we know better. We only open our hearts a little at a time and pull back over and over. For many of us this is a lifetime process of taking little steps towards God, allowing Him in a little at a time. Maybe we need help. Jesus Himself wants to help us.
He’s given us the awesome gift of the Eucharist so we may approach Him and grow in a relationship with Him. All we have to do is open our hearts to Him as we receive Him in communion. Ask for the grace to be totally open to Him and what He wants to do when you come to Him. He longs to pour His love upon you.

So often we think that this kind of relationship is just for saints, not ordinary people like us but God pours His Spirit and love upon all of us.  His greatest desire is to bless us beyond our imaginations.  He wants to knock our socks off so open your heart and let Him in.

Jesus, I believe that You love me more than I love myself, more than anything that I can imagine. I believe that Your love for me is infinite, beyond comprehension, limitless. I believe that You know and want what is best for me, that you want to pour your love and blessings upon me.

I believe that You loved me enough to die for me. I believe that You would have endured the entire Passion just for me out of love. I believe that You have forgiven all my sins and that I can come to You at anytime in confession and receive Your awesome mercy.

I believe that You are present in the most holy Eucharist, that You created the Eucharist out of love, that the Eucharist is love itself, that You wait in the Eucharist to pour out your love upon me.

I believe but help my unbelief. Help me to believe in my heart, not just my head. Strengthen my faith in Your awesome love for me. Help me to open my heart to Your love. Help me to put aside all that may block my receiving the love and blessings You want to give me.

Help me to let go of my past, of any sins or mistakes for which I keep beating myself up. Help me to let go of any sense of unworthiness and remember that it is your love not my worthiness that matters.

Help me to let go of all pride, the false sense that I have to earn Your love, that I have to do things on my own. Help me to turn to You.

Help me to let go of all fear and doubt. Help me to totally put my trust in Your awesome goodness, love and mercy.

I want to be totally open to You, Jesus. I want You to come into my heart and heal the wounds of my past. I want You to help me to forgive all those who’ve hurt me. I want You to change me from the inside, to help me let go of all the anger, resentments, to let go of the pride and independence, anything that keeps me apart from you.

I want to know You, personally. I want an intimate relationship with You. I want to see You each time I receive You. I want to feel Your presence, Your love in my heart. I want to hear Your voice. I want You to guide me with every decision I make. I want You to take charge of my life. I want You to truly be my Lord and Savior. I don’t want to live my life anymore. I want to live Your life. I want to serve You, to be Your hands and feet. I want to receive Your love and bring it to those around me. Help me to do so.

Come into my heart and change me into the person You created me to be. Fill me with Your love. Free me of all fear and doubt and help me to trust You with everything, my health, family, finances, career, relationships, everything.

Help me Jesus, draw me close to You. Let me live in Your heart. Fill me with You. Take charge of my life. I surrender all to You and Your incredible love. Amen

Questions for Hillary

Can you explain why your Abortion policy has become so extreme? Except for China I know of no nation’s whose policy is so extreme. You used to be Pro-choice, saying that abortion should be safe, legal and rare. Now you seem ready to force abortion down the throats of Americans who object to abortion on religious grounds saying deep-seated religious beliefs must be changed and calling for the repeal of the Hyde Amendment and free tax payer supported abortions.
Why have you made such a radical change in policy? What is your vision of America’s future? Do you believe that the population crisis is so bad that we have to limit births to one per woman, preferably none? Are you moving us towards China’s policy of one child per family? It seems like it to me?
Is this the only solution you can see to America’s problems? Is this your anti-poverty program, to wipe out the lower classes and minorities? Is this how you plan to solve crime in the cities, your solution to the problem of gangs and overcrowded schools? Do you not believe in the American people’s ability to solve problems? Do you believe in us or not?
Where is our military going to draw recruits from in the future, twenty-five years from now? Are we going to have a mercenary army, enlisting for the privilege of citizenship? Or do you believe that your foreign policy will be so effective that Isis and other threats will no longer exist?
What about Social Security? How will you fund it if you abort so many future tax payers?
Do you believe in God? What do you think He will say about all the children whose abortions you pushed? Forget God, what will you say to all those children who lost their lives because of your policies when you face them?
Tell us. The American voters deserved to know what your real thoughts are, why you have changed so radically, what you really believe and stand for. Is there some extreme crisis we don’t know about?

And they Called Vietnam Vets Baby Killers!

Yesterday I prayed over a Vietnam vet dying of MLS. He didn’t want much, just time to pass on his faith to his grandchildren, time to see the boys rooted in their faith. That’s his priority and how he was raised. His faith, family, church and country were important. His country called and he answered. Most of his life he served his church. As a grand knight of the Knights of Columbus he helped to build a church and served many years as a lector and extraordinary minister. He’s also prayed outside abortion clinics.

Ironically, as a Vietnam vet he’s heard the words baby killer applied as an expletive to those who answered the call to serve in Vietnam. Funny that our brave soldiers were cursed as baby killers yet at this year’s democratic conventions women bragged about their abortions, about killing their children and received standing ovations from many of the people who were involved in protesting the Vietnam War. How far have we declined morally! How terribly we have changed!

They protested the war because too many American boys were dying, fighting for freedom. 58,000 + died in that war and maybe 2,000,000 Vietnamese. Well 58,000,000 + babies have been killed by abortionists and that is not enough. The Democratic Party wants to make it easier to have an abortion. They want you the taxpayer to pay for free abortions. Have we’ve gone crazy? Have the Democrats gone nuts?

I get sick every time I see them criticizing the Republicans and until Bill Clinton vetoed the partial birth abortion ban I was one. I voted for Clinton, McGovern, Ted Kennedy and Jesse Jackson. Except for their extreme positions on abortion I would have voted for President Obama and Hillary. I have always been liberal. I’ve spent 40 months as a volunteer in Appalachia and most of my teaching career in the inner city. I’ve taught about the Vietnam War, Black History and Women’s History. One of the courses I taught included 8 weeks on the Civil Rights Movement. John Lewis, Diane Nash and Medgar Evers were heroes to me.

Yet the Democrats sicken me. They’ve thrown away the moral high ground. How can they criticize the other party when they are pushing to kill more babies? How much lower can you go? We kill babies not fetuses not masses of tissue. These are real children with the entire DNA needed to develop into full fledged human beings. Stalin killed 20,000,000 in his programs. Hitler killed 12,000,000 in the Holocaust and we were outraged. The world was shocked and condemned both. We’ve killed 58,000,000. How dare we criticize any nation for anything they do! We kill babies and 58,000,000 isn’t enough for the Democrats! And we claim to be good Christians. How insane is that?

How dare they criticize anyone!
